American Express, or AmEx, is a big company from the US that is well-known for its high-end credit cards and charge cards worldwide. AmEx not only issues its own cards but also operates its own card payment network. You can get cards directly from AmEx or from other banks that partner with AmEx to use its payment system. AmEx started offering credit cards in India in 1993. Quickly, these cards became some of the most prestigious in the country. By January 2024, there were over 1.34 million AmEx credit cards in use in India. Since AmEx is both a card issuer and a payment network, it stands out from other companies and offers special deals to its customers in various categories.
